Auto-Detection Mode: Simply type or paste your text! The converter automatically detects whether you're using English (0-9) or Nepali (०-९) numerals and converts accordingly. All text formatting is preserved.
Works with numbers, dates, phone numbers, and mixed text. All formatting is preserved!

If you've ever written a Nepali government document, filled out a bank form, or published content in Devanagari script, you've run into the same problem: you type numbers in English digits (0-9) out of habit, but the document calls for Nepali numerals (०-९). Or the other way around — someone sends you data full of Devanagari digits and you need them in standard numerals to work with in a spreadsheet.

This converter handles both directions automatically. Paste in your text — whether it's a single number, a date, a phone number, or several paragraphs — and it figures out which way to convert. All punctuation, spaces, letters, currency symbols, and formatting stay exactly as they were. Only the digits change.

Bulk mode means you can paste an entire document or a long list of data and convert every number in it at once. Useful for Nepali content creators, government offices, schools, news sites, and developers working with Devanagari Unicode.

📖 How to Use This Converter

How to use it

Choose Individual mode for a single number or a short piece of text, or switch to Bulk mode if you have multiple lines to convert at once. Type or paste your text into the input box — the tool detects whether your numbers are in English or Nepali and converts them in the right direction automatically. The result appears immediately as you type.

Hit the copy button when you're done and paste the converted text wherever you need it — Word, Google Docs, a website editor, or a government form.

What converts and what stays the same

Only the digit characters change (0–9 ↔ ०–९). Everything else — letters, words, commas, periods, slashes, hyphens, parentheses, currency symbols like रु or $, and any other special characters — is preserved exactly as you entered it.

Some examples:

⚙️ How It Works

Devanagari Numeral System

Devanagari numerals (०-९) are the traditional number symbols used in Nepal, India (for Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit), and other South Asian regions. They are part of the ancient Devanagari script that dates back over 1000 years.

How the Converter Works

Our converter uses Unicode character mapping to transform between ASCII numerals (U+0030 to U+0039) and Devanagari numerals (U+0966 to U+096F). The converter:

  • Preserves Formatting: All punctuation, spaces, commas, periods, hyphens, slashes, parentheses, and special characters remain unchanged
  • Smart Detection: Automatically detects input type and converts in the correct direction
  • Mixed Content Safe: Only converts numerals while keeping all text, Unicode symbols, and emojis intact
  • Instant Processing: Real-time conversion as you type with no delays

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions

Devanagari numerals (०-९) are the traditional digit symbols for Nepali, Hindi, Marathi, and several other South Asian languages. In Nepal they're used in government documents, official forms, schools, banks, and print media. They're part of the Unicode standard (U+0966 to U+096F), so they display correctly on all modern devices and platforms.

Yes. Paste in a date like 2025-01-15 and get २०२५-०१-१५. A phone number like +977-9801234567 becomes +९७७-९८०१२३४५६७. The slashes, hyphens, and plus signs all stay exactly where they are — only the digits change.

Not at all. Commas, periods, hyphens, slashes, parentheses, and currency symbols like रु, Rs, or $ are untouched. If you paste "रु 1,234.56" you get back "रु १,२३४.५६" — the rupee symbol and comma formatting are preserved.

Yes — it works both ways. Paste English digits and get Devanagari. Paste Devanagari numerals and get English digits. The tool detects which type is in your input and converts in the appropriate direction without you needing to flip any switch.

Yes. Switch to Bulk mode and paste as many lines as you need — there's no line limit. Every number in every line gets converted simultaneously. Useful for converting large documents, CSV data exported from spreadsheets, or lists of records.

Yes, they're identical. Devanagari numerals are shared by Nepali, Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit, and several other Indic languages. They all use the same Unicode range (U+0966–U+096F) and the same symbols (०-९).

Yes. The tool preserves commas exactly where they are, whether your number follows the international format (1,234,567) or the South Asian format (12,34,567). The digits convert, the commas stay put.

Yes. The output is standard Unicode text. Copy it with the copy button and paste it into Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, a web editor, social media, or any Unicode-compatible application — it'll display correctly everywhere.

Absolutely. The Devanagari numerals this tool produces are standard Unicode characters, the same ones used in official Nepali government documents, court filings, school materials, and bank forms. They render correctly in all standard Devanagari fonts.

That's handled fine. For example, "Total 500 items cost रु 1,234" converts to "Total ५०० items cost रु १,२३४" — the English words are left alone and only the digits are converted.
